How Waking Up at 6AM Changed My Life (And How You Can Do It Too)

I used to sleep until 4PM and live in total darkness. Then I tried waking up at 6AM for just one week—and it completely changed my life. In this post, I share how I went from zero productivity to juggling two jobs, saving money, and feeling in control of my day. If you're struggling with late nights and low motivation, this is the wake-up call you didn’t know you needed.

I never thought I’d be that person—you know, the one raving about morning routines and early sunrises. But here we are.

Just a few months ago, my life looked very different. I was a proud night owl, staying up all night, crashing at 3 or 4 in the afternoon, and basically living in total darkness. My days started when the sun was setting. I was barely scraping by at a part-time job, and my productivity? Nonexistent.

Everything changed when I decided—on a random Monday—to try waking up at 6AM for just one week.

The first three days? Pure hell.
I wanted to quit every morning. My body hated me, my brain was foggy, and I couldn’t see the point.

But by day five, something shifted. I stopped dreading the mornings. I started feeling a strange sense of control—like I was reclaiming time I didn’t even know I had.

Fast forward to today:

  • I wake up at 6AM every single day (yes, even weekends)

  • I landed a full-time remote job (8AM–4PM)

  • I still keep my evening part-time gig (6PM–9PM)

  • I’m actually saving money—something I thought was impossible before (shoutout to a few lucky wins on RollingRiches too 👀)

Here’s What Helped Me Stick With It:
  • Commit to 7 days. Just one week. Don’t quit, no matter how much your body complains.

  • Avoid the black hole that is your phone. Especially that one bird app that shall not be named. Trust me—scrolling at 6AM is not the move.

  • Go to bed at the same time every night. Consistency is everything.

I say this with 100% honesty: if I could do it, literally anyone can. So if you’ve been toying with the idea of flipping your routine, this is your sign.

Give it one week.
You might just get your life back too.
